On September 8, 2023, GENLITEC POWER delivered three GPC138S5 silent diesel generator sets to a drilling company in Egypt. This order marked the customer's fifth repeat order since the companies first started working together in 2020.

Project Overview

The three GPC138S5 generator sets were supplied for a drilling company operating in Egypt. Drilling projects often require dependable power for site equipment, temporary facilities, lighting systems, control systems and other electrical loads, particularly when operations are carried out away from reliable utility power.

Egypt's climate is generally hot and dry, with high temperatures during much of the year. Drilling operations can also take place in desert and semi-desert areas where dust, sand and significant temperature variations can create demanding conditions for power-generation equipment.

For these applications, generator sets need to provide stable power while maintaining reliable operation in challenging outdoor environments. A soundproof diesel generator configuration also helps reduce operating noise around working areas and temporary site facilities.

Customer Background

The customer is a professional drilling company serving projects in Egypt and has extensive experience in drilling operations. Its work requires dependable power-generation equipment capable of supporting electrical loads at drilling campsites and other project locations.

The relationship between GENLITEC POWER and this customer began in 2020. Since then, the customer has continued to place repeat orders, with this delivery representing the fifth repeat order and bringing the total number of Cummins-powered silent generator sets supplied to more than 50 sets.

GENLITEC POWER Solution

For this order, GENLITEC POWER supplied the GPC138S5 silent diesel generator set, equipped with a Cummins 6BTAA5.9-G2 diesel engine and GENLITEC S274G110 alternator.

The generator set is configured for 50Hz, 220/380V three-phase power and uses a SMARTGEN HGM6110N controller for generator set monitoring and control.

The Cummins engine and GENLITEC alternator combination provides a proven configuration for demanding power-generation applications, while the soundproof enclosure helps reduce operating noise and provides additional protection for the generator set during outdoor operation.
