WARRANTY POLICY
Warranty Coverage
GENLITEC POWER provides warranty coverage for diesel generator sets and lighting towers against functional defects resulting from defects in design, materials, manufacturing or assembly.
The standard warranty period is 12 months after delivery or 1,000 running hours, whichever comes first, unless otherwise specified in the applicable quotation, sales contract or warranty documentation.
During the applicable warranty period, if a failure is confirmed to have resulted from a non-user-related defect in design, materials, manufacturing or assembly, the equipment or affected component will be eligible for warranty service in accordance with the applicable GENLITEC POWER warranty terms.
Warranty coverage is subject to proper installation, commissioning, operation and maintenance in accordance with the applicable technical documentation and operating requirements.
GENLITEC POWER Warranty
For components covered directly by the GENLITEC POWER warranty, if a component is confirmed to be defective due to a manufacturing, material, design or assembly defect during the applicable warranty period, GENLITEC POWER will provide the approved replacement part free of charge.
GENLITEC POWER will also provide reasonable technical support during the warranty claim process, including support by email, online communication, video calls, remote troubleshooting and technical guidance, as appropriate to the reported issue.
The Buyer or End User shall provide the necessary technical information, photographs, videos, equipment identification details, fault codes, operating parameters and other relevant information requested by GENLITEC POWER to assist with technical evaluation and troubleshooting.
Where a technical issue can reasonably be diagnosed or resolved through remote support, GENLITEC POWER may provide technical instructions and guidance through email, online communication or video calls to assist the Buyer or End User with troubleshooting, testing, adjustment or replacement procedures.
For international orders, GENLITEC POWER will bear the shipping cost for approved warranty replacement parts sent to the Buyer.
The GENLITEC POWER warranty does not cover labor costs, on-site service, technician fees, travel expenses, accommodation, local transportation, installation, removal, troubleshooting or other service-related costs incurred at the Buyer’s or End User’s site. Unless otherwise agreed in writing, such costs shall be arranged and borne by the Buyer or End User.
Warranty Claim Procedure
The Buyer or End User shall submit the warranty claim to GENLITEC POWER together with sufficient technical information to allow the reported problem to be reviewed and evaluated.
GENLITEC POWER may request photographs, videos, equipment identification details, model and serial numbers, operating hours, maintenance records, fault codes, operating parameters and other relevant information to determine the possible cause of the failure.
The reported failure may be technically evaluated by GENLITEC POWER and, where applicable, by the relevant component manufacturer to determine the cause of the failure and whether the reported problem falls within the applicable warranty coverage.
Global Warranty for Branded Components
Some diesel generator sets are equipped with engines, alternators or other branded components that are covered by the relevant manufacturer’s global warranty. In such cases, GENLITEC POWER will assist the Buyer or End User in coordinating the warranty claim with the relevant manufacturer. The applicable warranty coverage, service procedures and final warranty determination are subject to the manufacturer’s warranty policy.
○ Warranty Claim Notification: The Buyer or End User submits the warranty claim and relevant technical information to GENLITEC POWER.
○ Claim Coordination: GENLITEC POWER reviews the information and coordinates with the relevant brand’s China office or authorized representative.
○ Overseas Service Coordination: Where an authorized service network is available, the relevant manufacturer or its authorized representative coordinates with the authorized service organization in the country or region where the equipment is located.
○ On-Site Inspection: Where required by the manufacturer, an authorized technician may visit the equipment site to inspect and diagnose the reported problem.
○ Warranty Determination: The relevant manufacturer determines whether the reported failure is covered under its global warranty based on its technical inspection and applicable warranty policy.
○ Replacement or Repair: Once the claim is approved, the relevant manufacturer will arrange the applicable replacement parts or repair service in accordance with its warranty procedures.
Any on-site inspection, labor, travel, accommodation, local transportation or other service costs for branded components are subject to the relevant manufacturer’s warranty policy and local service arrangements. Any applicable inspection or service fees shall be handled in accordance with the manufacturer’s policy. GENLITEC POWER will assist with coordination but cannot guarantee reimbursement of costs not covered by the manufacturer.
Warranty Exclusions
Warranty coverage does not apply to failures or damage resulting from circumstances including, but not limited to, the following:
○ Operation or maintenance of the diesel generator set or lighting tower that does not comply with the applicable GENLITEC POWER operation and maintenance documentation.
○ Failures caused by contaminated fuel, oil, coolant or antifreeze, or by the use of improper or insufficient fuel, oil, coolant or antifreeze.
○ Diesel generator sets, lighting towers or components that have been modified or altered without prior formal authorization from GENLITEC POWER.
○ Failures resulting from normal wear and tear, accidents, misuse, abuse, negligence, improper installation, improper commissioning or incorrect equipment sizing.
○ Any incidental, consequential or indirect damages resulting from defects in materials or workmanship, or from delays in repairing or replacing defective parts.
○ Failures caused by external causes or events beyond reasonable control, including collision, fire, theft, freezing, vandalism, riot, war, lightning, earthquake, windstorm, hail, volcanic eruption, water or flood, tornado, hurricane, terrorist acts or nuclear events.
○ Consumable items, routine maintenance items and components subject to normal service replacement, unless otherwise covered by the applicable manufacturer’s warranty.
Customer Responsibilities
The Buyer or End User is responsible for proper installation, commissioning, operation and routine maintenance of the diesel generator set or lighting tower in accordance with the applicable technical documentation.
The Buyer or End User shall provide accurate equipment information and reasonable technical assistance during the warranty investigation, including photographs, videos, fault codes, operating parameters and maintenance records when requested.
Where local technical assistance is required under the GENLITEC POWER warranty, the Buyer or End User shall arrange qualified local personnel to carry out installation, removal, replacement or repair work at its own cost unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Warranty Determination
A reported failure does not automatically constitute a warranty claim. Warranty applicability will be determined based on the available technical evidence, inspection results and the applicable warranty terms.
For products covered directly by the GENLITEC POWER warranty, failures confirmed to result from non-user-related defects in design, materials, manufacturing or assembly during the applicable warranty period will be handled in accordance with the GENLITEC POWER warranty terms.
For branded components covered by a manufacturer’s global warranty, the relevant manufacturer is responsible for the final determination of warranty coverage in accordance with its own warranty policy. GENLITEC POWER will assist in coordinating the warranty claim but does not determine or guarantee the manufacturer’s warranty approval.
